Taking the plunge......I'm Engaged! :)
For those who don't already know.....I'm engaged. :) Matt & I are very happy and have scheduled the wedding for next September (2007). We've found the place. It's at a pretty place up in the wine country. It has views of vinards and hills in all directions. It sould be absolutely gorgeous in Fall with all the warm yellows, oranges, and reds. I've found the dress. Thank god because that type of shopping is torture to me. There are just too many ugly dresses and for absurd prices. Now comes the fun part, the wine and food tasting. Everyone is so willing to help us with this part of the planning....good wine, good food, I would want to help too. :) I hope everyone is doing well. Best, Kris Current Mood: happy |

Couch Ridden. :(
Somehow I managed to catch something this last weekend. :( I've been hitting the couch hard yesterday and today. It's sheer torture. I hate beeing stuck indoors. But, I know that I won't get better if I don't take it easy. At least I don't feel too bad since the weather sucks. Well, I hope everyone has started their weekend off well and haven't gotten too wet. :) Ooh, and side note. Birthday Plans
Hey guys, My birthday is this coming Saturday, March 25th. There is a hike and picnic planned in the Big Basin area. And dinner at Buca di Peppo per my request. I just want to see friends, get outdoors, and have good food for my birthday. So, if you are interested in seeing some beautiful scenery (should include a beautiful waterfall), good conversation with friends (might even meet some new people), and eating lots of good food, you should contact my party planner Matt at mnandrews@lbl.gov for more details. Oh, I know that not everyone reads LJ so you are welcome to spread the word. Anybody is welcome. And, if you only want to come hiking or just want to come to dinner, that's ok too. A Sad Day. :(
I never had a good, excepting, supportive group of friends growing up. All the girls were just too caddy and the guys would just make fun of me all the time. I was always the outcase because I didn't give a shit what the latest fashions were getting drunk all the time, etc. I would want to have people like those as friends anyway. Plus were I lived, if you weren't paper thin then you weren't worth talking to. I've felt pretty much alone my entire life and fairly sub standed. :( So yes, sometimes I have a hard time believing that I might be an ok person. I would just like to fit in a little bit. :( Current Mood: sad |

I got a mini-frig. for the office over the weekend. I've got it pluged in and filled with healthy food. I'm liking it so far. Now lets see if it helps me eat better. |

Intersting Food Info
ok, anyone heard this before? I was just talking to a co-worker about weight loss. She told me her doctor said that you need to eat at least 70 g. of protein a day to get your metabolism up. Apparently it has worked for her. She has lost 160 lbs. Anyone else have other good info? |

Ahh, the memories.....pudding?
So, Matt asked what I want to do for my birthday. Don't ask me why but for some reason pudding wrestling came to mind. Ahh, the things we do in college. But hey, it worked better than the jello wrestling. You would have thought that we had been smart enough to think that jello has to go in the refrigerator....just a wee bit cold. :) Oh, but it must be vanilla pudding if you want to actually wear clothes because chocolate stains. But hey, naked is just as must fun. hehe. :) Now everone is having the image of naked people wrestling in pudding in their head. You're welcome. :) Current Mood: amused |

Feeling Punchy
Errr..... I'm feeling a little punchy this afternoon. I forget my yogurt this morning so I couldn't have my yogurt & walnuts at 9am like usual. This does not help because I had decided last night not to bring the apple and peanutt butter thinking I would have enough to eat. Well, I'm down two meals today....my body is very upset with me because I was already cutting my food back and today it's been cut back even more. errr. :( Just an hour and a half to go. I can make it. I just needed to complain a little bit. Current Mood: hungry |

One the subject of health......
I found another good reason to have my own office. I can bring in a mini-frig so I can keep my office stocked with nutritious food. I think I will get one later this week. ....It's all about changing habits, not dieting. Current Mood: chipper |

Hitting The Antsy Stage.......
This is a good thing. This weekend I finally it the "antsy" stage. I'm just itching to get outside to exercise. That's a great feeling. It's finally not feeling like work and I'm ancious to get out. So, I'm going to adjust my exercise schedule. I will do a full walk/hike (1 hour) Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Tuesdays and Thursdays I will do a half walk then head to the gym to lift weights for 30-45 minutes. And, I will do yoga on Wednesday nights as well. I'm hoping to add in biking to work in a week or so. Right now it's just to damn cold! But, in any case, I'm feeling pretty good. :) |

First Friday Weigh-in
Well, I got on the scale this morning.... I weighed in at 186. That means I lost 4 pounds. :) Not bad for my first week. And, next week I start taking my bike to work. Between that and the hiking and a little bit of weights, I will have a nice cross training schedule. :) I hope everything is having a great Friday! Current Mood: relieved |

The Early Morning Workout
I finally did it. I got my butt out of bed a little early this morning and lifted weights at the RSF before work. It's quite nice to have the gym right next door to my building. :) It wasn't even that hard to get up a little earlier than normal. So, the next step is to start biking to work. I may even start next week. You just feel so much better after a workout. I wonder why it's so easy to forget that? Otherwise I would always get my excercise. |
